Who says that you can't have fun naming
your Rottweilers?
While desperately trying to think of names
for my 'G Litter', I saw an ad for a Dr. Suess book. Could I?
Should I? Would I name a Rottweiler 'Green Eggs 'n Ham'? (Ok, so
I admit to getting carried away with that moment.)

Well, I did, and the response from the kids
and adults who meet her has been tremendous. Samantha always manages
to put a smile on someone's face.
Introducing.... Samantha, or Sam I Am, or the 'Little Egg' as she is known
in the local Toronto area parks!
I kept Samantha back as my 'pick bitch' from
my Rand X PDQ litter (see pedigree below), until she was about 3-months
old. Margo and Rick had been waiting for a female puppy for awhile,
and Sam would make a perfect addition to their home, and she did!
I never regret for one moment, placing Sam with the Martins. She
enjoys her visits with me, and I even take her Mom, PDQ and Uncle Donnie
to see her.
Samantha is slowly maturing into a 'wonderbeast',
(is that a Dr. Suessism?), and will be hitting the show ring later this
year.
In the meantime, Sam keeps her owners, Margo
& Rick M. quite busy.
In limited shows, Sam has placed Reserve
Winners Bitch from the puppy class, VSP at her first sieger show, in addition
to placements in the AKC show ring as well.

Keeping with the 'theme' of this page, I've
included a recipe for 'Green Eggs and Ham'. Remember, Sam's favourite
dish is Green Eggs and Ham. But be warned: Sam likes to share her
Green Eggs and Ham with everyone...and she doesn't take NO for an answer!

à la Sam-I-Am
Ingredients
1-2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
4 slices of ham
8 eggs
2 tablespoons of milk
1-2 drops of green food colouring
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
What You'll Need:
Knife, medium-size mixing
bowl, wire whisk or eggbeater, large frying pan, spatula, aluminum foil,
serving plates
1. Melt a teaspoon of
butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add sliced ham and brown
until edges are slightly crisp. Remove the ham from the pan, cover with
aluminum foil, and set aside.
2. In a medium-size mixing
bowl, combine the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Beat with a whisk until
frothy. Then add 1-2 drops of green food coloring until you reach the desired
shade of green.
3. Heat a tablespoon of butter
or margarine in a large frying pan over medium heat until the butter begins
to sizzle. Then add the egg mixture to the pan.
4. Stir the egg mixture with
a spatula until the eggs are firm and not too runny.
5. Transfer the eggs to individual
plates. Garnish with a sprig of parsley. Add the ham prepared earlier.
Serve with toast or warm rolls.
Feeds 4 hungry green-egg lovers.
